item description:

An excellent Chinese porcelain crackled glaze vase from the Guangxu period (1875 - 1908) with decoration of ancient battlefield stories. Good size and attractive quality enamel work.

The decoration tells the old tale named \"Romance of the three kindoms\". Brave generals on horses and soldiers on foot fighting each other on the ancient battlegrounds. The vase is decorated with brown reliëf work bands around the base and shoulders referring to archaistic Chinese motifs.
On the neck and shoulders Buddhist Lions and crouching Qilong dragons.
