32mm. This very popular Civil War Dog Tag / Identification disk design. Signed in the die; “R. L. Lovett,” the prominent engraver, Robert L. Lovett. It is listed in “Medallic Portraits of Washington” by Rulua & Fuld. Depicts the Bust of George Washington facing right on the obverse by Robert Lovett (initials RL beneath bust). Reverse side has NAME______, Co._______, Regt.______ blanks for inscription. Some loss of gilting on both sides with mottled color of this unissued Civil War Dog Tag that is Not Holed for suspension.
