This isoneof a collection of old wood decoysI have acquired from my friend who passed away about 5 yrs ago. He died at age 80.He was an avid duck hunter since he was a kid. I have no knowledge of decoys except if it is signed.
This one, I believe is a Coot duck. It is 11 1/2\"L x 5 1/2\"H x 5 \"W. No markings. Wood carved and painted with textured black paint. Blunt tail, doesn\'t look like it ever had a tip. 2 pc head and body attached at neck. Holes on the bottom where lead weights used to be.White painted beak.
Shows lots of use, chipped painting, nicks and cracks, after all it was a working decoy.
