A lovely pair of soapstone figures of the Immortal Lui Hai and his three-legged money making toad. On their original wooden bases, they measure in total (including bases) 16.5 and 16 cms as one is slightly taller than the other. Dating from the first half of the twentieth century in my opinion. In good condition, the painted highlighted areas a little faded and they are not identical (although obviously a pair as their heads are inclined in opposite directions so they face each other when together) and one has a wider bottom area and only has two protusions on the back whereas the other has three. I cannot see any other obvious issues but I have provided many close-up images from every angle SO PLEASE LOOK AT THESE CAREFULLY if you wish to offer as I am primarily a picture dealer and do not normally deal in ornaments.
