Wonderful hard to find 2 panel Davy Jones original art strip. Dated 9/7/1963 with art by the astounding artist Alden McWilliams featuring his incredible work on a multi-character scene and a boat scene!!! True non reserve sale starting at just 1 penny! The story behind this piece: After Al McWilliams quit the strip, the writer and creator Sam Leff was looking for a replacement artist. His friend Tom Gill knew a teacher at The School of Visual Arts in New York who suggested student Tony Tallarico. Several comic strips were given to Tony to see if he could copy Al’s style. He could; and was given the job. It lasted 12 weeks. The strip was then dropped by the syndicate. This is one of those strips given to Tony, I acquired it from Tony\'s daughter. It\'s very special that this strip has been tucked away all these years and just now seeing the open market.
