A Silver Jewish Candlestick, Hanukkah Menorah with Star of David and Floral Decoration in Relief, 24.5 cm High.The inscription on the round base reads הנרות הללו קודש הם. ישראל. and stands in relief under a charming floral relief in cylindricalform, with a bulbous style tapering up to a decorative middle stem, topped by a star of David (מגן דוד), from which eight branches of the identical style are conceived. The Menorah appears to have been used for candles, but was likely to have been manufactured for the purpose of oil lighting, as apparentfrom the characterof the cups.All in all, a beautiful piece.
