$.50 Cent Piece of Civil War Paper Money \" The State of Alabama\" Jan. 1st 1863:
$10.50

Up for sale is a piece of paper currency issued during the Civil War from \"The State of Alabama\". Currency this old that was circulated can have folds, age stains & pinholes and this note does have some of that but it does not take away from its collectability.

This particular note has a good rectangular cut (was done by hand in those days)its features on the front side, are very clear, its does have a small hole above the Serial no. but it is not that noticeable.

The center of this note features a map of Alabama beneath a large tree, below is a large blue protector(50 CTS) giving no doubt of the issue value of the note. At the bottom right is a vignette if Mrs. Juliet Opie Hopkins, who was known for her medical care of wounded southern soldiers during the Civil War.

The Serial no. on this note appears to be 77374, the Plate letter is N, and it\'s a 2nd Series.

A great piece of History to have in your collection.
