Pablo Picasso died in 1973. The same year the Hamilton Mint issued a set of three .999 silver plates as a tribute to him. For sale here is one of the three. It is \"The Lovers\" which is a recreation in silver of the famous Picasso painting by the same name from 1923. This commemorative plate measures 8\" across, and weighs 276.5 grams or 8.89 troy ounces. The series was limited, and this is plate number 2758. The condition of this plate is very good. There are some minor scratches on the front probably as a result of over zealous cleaning. I believe that these can possibly be buffed out. The plate is signed in the back \"The Hamilton Mint\" \".999 F. S. 1973\" under the plate number. This plate originally came in a box with a brochure, neither of which I can find. This is part of a wealthy estate in a Denver suburb I am liquidating. It is a beautiful piece of silver. Perfect for display in an easel.
