99mm Very Large Plant Fossil PINECONE (Araucaria Mirabilis) Pair - Argentina:

This specimen is a very large, very colorful museum quality fossil Pine Cone pair \"Araucaria Mirabilis\" from El Moyano, Santa Cruz in Argentina. This showcase specimen is out of the Jurassic period 140-190 Mya. It displays some various shades of orange, yellow, gray, brown and black. The cone has really strong detail both inside and out, and the stem area of the outside is very aesthetic. The large highly polished surfaces are very nice and glossy allowing for a richly displaying specimen. This is a great opportunity to own one of these difficult to acquire cones. Since the ban on exporting fossils from Argentina in 2003, they are not imported anymore and their supply is highly limited. The specimen measures 99mm x 74mm x 65mm for the larger half. There is no damage it was found intact and has no restoration or repair of any kind. Please see the pictures for more detail.
