This wonderful early ledger is packed with over 550 full pages of entries from daily sales of a general store with compete names, dates, purchases, amount paid, etc., all done in amazing handwriting. I purchased it at an estate sale in Wallingford, Vermont but no reference is made to the town that I can find. It is in good condition for its age with some wear of the leather bound cover as shown and the first 15 pages or so, also does have an irregular shaped hole, perhaps caused by an insect, not sure. It is fascinating reading the variety of items that were sold in a single store. Please see all photos for detail. Thank you for your interest.
