Up for sale is this lovely Civil War Era Seth Thomas Flat Top 30 hour time and alarm Mini Cottage Clock. The label shows an Eagle with an Union Flag. This great label dates this clock to mid Civil War.
Condition: Nice original clock maintains it\'s original finish, grain painted sides and lower glass. Top of the door shows a run of wax or finish...not sure. I refinished and aged this dial, otherwise the clock maintains it\'s original features. There is veneer chipping on the base. I was going to grain paint the clock, but couldn\'t bear to touch the original finish on such a rare clock. An old hanger was placed many years ago for wall use. Case is loose and will benefits from gluing.
The movement was cleaned 30 years ago before it was placed in storage, and should be serviced prior to use. Although it has run well for me this past week, I am selling it \'as is\'. Key included.
I am listing rare early Seth Thomas miniatures from my collection this week. Most are in the same condition as I acquired them 40 years ago.
