THE RESURRECTION FROM THE TOMB

Material:Wood panel with a kovcheg (cut-back central portion). Levkas (gesso).Egg tempera. Gold leaf.

Dimensions:height12 1/4inches;width10 1/4 inches [31 cm x 26 cm]; thickness of the panel 1 inch [2.5 cm]

Condition: Good and stable state of preservation typical for the antique 19th Century Russian Icon. Two insert splints on the back. See photographs.

Iconography:\"The Resurrection from the Tomb\" first appeared in the Russian art in the early 17th century.
