ANTIQUE VICTORIAN WHITE ENAMEL LOCKET BACKED PENDANT c1880

A high quality, antique, unmarked gold pendant with a locket back. This piece is finely made, with applied central section encasing a faceted garnet and surrounded with a slender, twisted gold thread. Deep, white enameling forms a wreath outside the center. The enamel work is mirrored on the bale. A lens covered compartment at the back currently holds a small piece of fabric and opens to a space where a momento can be placed.

A dramatic Victorian pendant...highly collectable & stunning when worn.

The pendant is in very good condition. Slight signs of wear, no dentingand enamel loss commensurate with age and use - please see pictures. Shown unpolished.

Circa 1880/90, the piece is being sold as gold-filled, having not been tested and bearing no marks, other than the \'IV\' on the interior. This stunning pendant measures 1 3/8 inches high and 1 1/8 inches wide, on it\'s own; with the bale it is 2 1/4 inches. Please note the chain is for display only and is not included in the sale.
