Lovely, large gold handle presentation cane . Presented in 1922 ,but I can assure you this cane is Ca. 1890 ,by the style of the gold and the metal rather than a horn ferrule .The cane is 36.5 inches long, 1.4 inches wide !! . The handle is near perfect on the sides ( no door knock dings ) But several tiny dings on top ,as shown in photo , in the soft 10k gold. This is from just wearing a ring while wearing this cane . The handle was tested at 10 k with acid and electronically with a mizar m24 gold tester. But I do not cut into the gold for further testing . The shaft is ebony with a few small dings but no cracks ,still shiny but with a tiny bit of age patina .The ferrule has almost no wear but a couple of small dings . Walked very little and put up for 120 years . This is a one of a kind cane with no gold wear and can be used for any amount of weight , or a stand out in your cane stand .Great present for the most discriminating cane collector or an even better present to yourself .The last photo is of one of my cane stands with just gold canes to show how good these look as a collection .
