This very rare Philip Skene Foundry2 pounder swivelgun shot is from the American schooner Royal savage that was part of General Benedict Arnold\'s fleet on Lake Champlain, New York & was sunk at the Battle of Valcour Island on October 11, 1776.

It is in good condition with light pitting & has some of the origonal black paint remaining.

It was bough in Ticonderoga, New York in 1937 by James Dunn from a local historian who owned the museum & whose family had lived on the lake since before the Revolutionary War & had been collecting artifacts from this area for many years.

It comes with a family letter from Dunn’s grand daughter who was there when this tomahawk was purchased & who inherited his very large collection of over 1500 + artifacts from this area.
