Harry McCormick was born in New Jersey on June 12, 1942. Known for his realism and attention to detail, Harry McCormick is, amazingly self-taught.
As a student of Zen meditation for over twenty years, McCormick enjoys a level of concentration foreign to many.Today his ability allows him to transfer what his powerful eyes see into harmonies of intricate detail including fabric, wood, textiles, crystal and human features.
His ability to capture shadow, light, glass, smoke, bottles and the subtle detail in a dimly lit bar on the painted canvas mesmerizes viewers.McCormick’s work has been seen in solo as well as group shows throughout the U.S.A. and Europe, and today is included in such noted collections as those of the Vatican in Rome, the Guggenheim in New York City, and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., as well as the private collections of notables from Senator Ted Kennedy to Hollywood’s Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft.
