Impressive vintage/antique brass Buckeye Brass and Iron Works, Dayton OH steam whistle with cast iron curled lever, built in valve.
Also included a rare miniature whistle!
Great items for every train enthusiast. Bring back that wonderful sound of times past! The valve on the large whistle works freely but have not tested the unit. The mini whistle is very loud even on “lung power”.
Buckeye: 3\" wide bell, over 14\" tall, about 6 lbs. 1\" threaded inlet. There is a rusty 1\"x3/4\" reducer with a 3/4\" close that could be replaced. The bottom of the valve is inscribed with the numerals 29.
Mini: total 3” length and about 1” diameter. No valve. Good threads.
Please see the pictures for cosmetic condition. Both whistles have been shined. Exterior of the whistles have several marks consistent with wear due to age and operation but no cracks or breaks. The Buckeye is a bit heavy on scars but still an interesting antique.
