This is an excellent condition, vintage 1906-1912 era, black iron, GRISWOLD #9 LARGE SLANT / ERIE LOGO CAST IRON HEAT RING SKILLET. It bears pattern number \"710A\". Its upper bowl rim measures 11.25\" diameter and its cooking surface measures 9.25\" diameter. Its inside bowl cooking surface is slick and smooth to the touch. It lies flat when gauged with a straight edge. This pan exhibits a negligible tad of movement on its strong, unworn heat ring when placed on a flat surface...this being the result of original factory bowl manufacturing tolerances only. Like many of the early produced 1906 Griswold / ERIE series of skillets, its underside bowl lettering is lightly incised. Its handle exhibits some original factory casting roughness. There are no repairs, cracks, hairline fractures, pitting, or warpage to contend with. It has been completely reconditioned, hand cleaned, heat darkened and seasoned with grape seed oil. This large size, highly desirable Griswold cast iron skillet is ready to be put to daily use and can be proudly displayed from the day it is received.
