\"Cap Sealed\" Trade Mark, made by the Continental Can Co., of Chicago.
Canadian Ace Brewery has a long and checkered history in Chicago. Founded in 1893 as the Manhattan Brewing Co., it was purchased in 1919 by Johnny Torrio, a notorious mobster and Joseph Stenson, an established brewer and front man. During prohibition the name changed to \"Malt Made\" and then to \"Fort Dearborn Products\". Though frequently searched by the police, they continued to brew beer illegally and were not shut down. In 1932, Frank Nitti, also notorious, bought the brewery with Lou Greenberg, Nitti was the majority share holder. In 1933, Prohibition was repealed and the brewery name changed back to Manhattan. Nitti died in 1943, the brewery continued under Greenberg. In 1947, the name was changed again to Canadian Ace and the brewery continued under that name until 1968 when it closed.

CONDITION: Lithography is intact and bright. Surface scratches are darkened but do not appear to be rusted. The exposed tin of the top and bottom of the can is darkened with scattered oxidation spots. One dent on the side of the can and a smaller one above the base rim of the can. The cap is present. The wheel does not spark. The wick is present. I was unable to open it.
DIMENSIONS: 6 3/4\" tall, 2 5/8\" in diameter.
