This listing is for an authenticpanel of the original wallcovering; not a lower quality reproduction. It will be shipped with a copy of the original invoice from Hirst's company which includes fully traceable receipt numbers, addresses, named invoicee etc which are particular to this panel.

This isyour opportunity toinvest in a beautiful and long sold out limited edition from Britain's most collected artist. This is an original panelof Damien Hirst's rare 2004 wallcovering created forthe “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” exhibitionat the Tate Britain. The panel depicts a range of butterflies in a vibrant kaleidoscopic formation.

Only 500 rolls of this paper were made.Many of the rolls were used in the 'In a gadda da vida' and subsequent exhibitions (see pictures below) andtherefore destroyed (pasted onto the walls of the galleries).A number of the surviving rolls are also believed to have perished in theMomart warehouse fire. Original panels are thereforeincreasingly rare.

This large artwork comprises one full repeat of the pattern and looks stunning framed. The piece for sale is sold unframed and is inmint conditionexcept for some tooling marks visible on the edge of the panel - please see pictures 4 and 5. These marks, which are caused by the rollerpress printing process, are easily framed out.

Extras: The piece will also be supplied with a copy of the original invoice from Hirst's publisher, a copy of the original press release for the exhibition as well as a Banksy pin badge.
