This is an extremely impressive, fully restored, large size, vintage 1920-1939 era, black iron, GRISWOLD #9 LARGE BLOCK / E.P.U. LOGO CAST IRON ROUND HANDLED GRIDDLE. It bears pattern number \"609A\". Its cooking surface measures 10.25\" diameter and its lower base edge measures 10.75\" diameter. Its cooking surface exhibits a mirror-like silky smooth-to-the-touch texture...exhibiting all of its original factory concentric circular milling rings and a non-offensive, small spot of ultra-light oxidation residual residue. This surface lies flat when gauged with a straight edge. The griddle exhibits a negligible tad of movement when placed on a flat surface...this being a result of original factory bowl manufacturing tolerances only! There are no repairs, hairline fractures, cracks, or warpage. It is perfectly suitable for use over any cooking heat source... including glass flat top electric! It has been completely reconditioned, hand cleaned, and 450 degree heat darkened and seasoned with grape seed oil. It has been provided with a light coat of protective mineral oil. This outstanding large size vintage Griswold griddle is ready to be put to daily use and it may be proudly displayed right from the day it is received.
