An original pair of related items: 1) An original letter to to Lt George L Faxon at Fort Macomb Louisiana April 27, 1866 requesting a Report of the location of Union burials & cemeteries at Faxon\'s Post. 2pp ink, 8 x 11\" w ptd logo, sgd by Capt Wm T Harrelll as Chief QM.,Mil Division of the Gulf, and 2) Faxon\'s Reply: a 3pp ink manuscript \"Report of Cemeteries of Fort Macomb by Lt GL Faxon, QM, July 1 , 1866\", states there are 14 Union dead at the cemetery near the Fort, requests a fence and headboards, also reports some Rebel Dead are buried nearby, but no precise location is iven.
