Beautiful antiquedevotional Spanish Colonialoil on metal painting . The piece is set intoa much larger hand-carved, hand-madeornate wooden frame with mirrored inlay. The piece is hand painted and depicts St. Mary of Carmel in an embellished gold dress with floral patterns. She wears a crown and holds a scepter and rosary in one hand and baby Jesus in the other. Under her feet is a crescent moon. Background is a deep ultramarine. Spanish Colonial work (possibly Mexican or New Mexican origin). The painting and vintage frame are one-of-a-kind.
