Mark Hopkins Limited Annual Edition Bronze Sculpture
"Mother's Nature", #51/410Item #14012.
The sculptor himself can describe the essence of this endearing piece far better than I am able to...
"We have long called it instinct, but in the reassuring nuzzle of the mother and the contented affection of the pup, surely we see more than mere instinct. She is a cunning predator, a wary survivor. Yet in her breast beats the heart of a mother, tender protector and care giver to her young, as fierce in her love as in her determination to endure." - Mark Hopkins.
This sculpture was first released in April 1994 and sold out in March 1995. From The Wilderness Visions Collection of the Annual Sculpture Series, it is number 51 of the 410 piece edition. It measures 12”x 9”. The original issue price of “Mother's Nature” was $695. It is now only available for purchase on the secondary market, where it is rarely found, and has been reported to the foundry with documented selling prices as high as $3300. Along with the Certificate of Authenticity and Registration Card, I have included an insert that gives a brief biographical introduction to the sculptor, and also lists some well known private and corporate collectors of Mark's work. I also found and will be sending you, along with the other paperwork, the Spring 1994 Edition of BronzeWorks (Mark Hopkins Sculpture's quarterly newsletter) that features "Mother's Nature" on the front page. Enjoy!
This piece is from a large private estate collection - it belonged to my parents. I have kept some of their sculptures of course, but I'm afraid I simply don't have nearly a big enough house to store all of them or properly display them. Though I know they were never able to actually display it themselves, I have personally inspected the piece thoroughly to ensure that it is in brand new and pristine condition. Due to the status of the collection, no returns will be able to be accepted, so please feel free to ask questions, request additional pictures and/or information, because I want you to feel supremely confident in your purchase. Since I have such an emotional attachment to this stunning collection, I look forward to seeing this piece find another happy home! International shipping for this item is now available to many countries through 's Global Shipping Program! Please see program details for more information.
