PRISTINE EXCELLENT CONDITION, RARE GORGEOUSLUMINESCENT1855SOFT KASHMIRPAISLEY SHAWL, HANDWOVEN IN INDIA

Thissquarepaisley shawl was made around 1855 in Kashmir, India. This shawl in this clean, unfaded,no holesperfect conditionis very rare. The colors are as bright and amazing in their clarity and patterning as they were in 1855! Check out those photos to see all the colors of the rainbow and more. The shawl is very light and soft to the touch, made frompashmina and silk. Many similar shawls have not had a wash in a long time; this one is clean and soft.Not all shawls are equal! This shawlis woven very beautifully in the kani, tapestry technique to form a gorgeous multi-color design.It has a beautiful fine fine weave, the soft texture from the lovely cashmere and silk blended yarn. The end borders are embroidered designs on pure pashmina in beautiful color notes. The shawl combines woven floral patterns throughout the field with embroidery on the edge borders. Note the wonderfulflower and leafmotifs in the lovely center in all the colors of the rainbow in miniature. The condition of this shawl is remarkable.

The exquisite harmony of the design and fine weave of this shawl makes itunusually beautiful quality. The shawl is very clean and unlike many shawls of this type does not have any condition issues. It is very soft to the touch. The main design features lovely swirling vines with bud and plant designs in intertwining patterns. It is rare to have the continuity of form in all parts of the design. It has a fantastic composition, very complex and funwith swirling vines intertwining with bold red and multi-color patterns. The border design flaunts beautiful color notes, with embroidered design.Note howlovely the close up photos show the wooland silk weaveto be (#8 and11 photos). Itis very clean with gorgeouscenter,which continues into theborder designs. The border areas have a lovely flowing paisley design in blue, gold, two reds, green, fuchsia pink, lavender,white,among other colors. The wool that was used is lovely.

The shawl isclean, has no smells and is soft to the touch. There are no stains, holes or mendsin the shawl.It is in excellent, clean, unfadedsuperb condition. Very rare.The colors arerich glorious. The design is unique and fascinating.
