Very nice estate find and part of an large Presidential Inaugural medal collection purchase here in Washington, D.C. Item is the Official Presidential Inaugural Bronze Medal struck in 1917 for President Woodrow Wilson and Vice President Thomas Marshall.

Medalmeasures 2\" in size and weighs 52 grams on my scale (just under 2 ounces) and exhibits amazing proof like qualities with reddish / orange original luster with no evidence of circulation or wear and a sharp razor like edge. Medal is a very choice and pleasing example and my research shows this medal is one of the absolute keys to an official Inaugural medal set (in fact records seem to show only about 200 or so examples were struck) with few if any of the surviving examples as well preserved as this one. Its about as nice as you will EVER see for this medal ! I have only seen two other examples offered on and both had corrosion and wear and NOT attractive or nice and both sold at $1500 and $2600.
