DESCRIPTION:

ITEM: *RARE* ANTIQUE Victorian BRONZE WALNUT Compact & Needle/Pin Case CHATELAINE ETUI

APPROXIMATE AGE:Mid 19th Century

APPROXIMATE SIZE: 1 7/8\" in length by 1 3/8\"wide(at its widest point)

VINTAGE CONDITION:Very Good to Excellent overall antique condition with no dings, dents, damage, repairs or restoration. The walnut etui is hinged and the walnut opens and closes properly and securely.The walnut etui is made of bronze(or possibly brass) and the exterior appears to be silver plated. There is some noted rubbing to the silver plating and thewalnut etuishows normal surface wear thatis consistent with age and general use. The gilt interior is very clean and the hinged round beveled mirror is in absolutely excellent condition. The hinged mirror opens and closes properly and securely. The powder-puff that is hidden behind the mirror is unused and is in excellentstable condition.The \"pin or needle rack\" retracts on a hinge and is also operating properly.

WEIGHT:22.55 grams

MARKS: The walnut etui does not appear to be marked or signed. The interior is engraved above the mirror with the name \"IDA\".

SPECIAL NOTES:This *RARE* and unusual piece is being offered as it was found. The left side holdsa smallpowder puff under the beveled round framed hinged mirror. The right side shows a retractable pin or needle rack that currently holds five(5) faux pearl tipped pins. The walnut case is life size and extremely realistic in appearance. Beautifully detailed and far, far nicer than shown!!!
