Absolutely incredible early 1900\'s Orpheum No. 1 five string banjo! These are pretty rare and this is almost entirely original! This beauty has been professionally setup by the skilled luthiers at Acoustic Corner in Black Mountain, NC and it sounds incredible.

Other than the 5th peg (and new bridge), I\'m pretty sure this banjo is all original. The skin head is very old but still very tight, the old tuners are awesome/functional and the neck, rim, pot, tonering are all great.

This banjo has seen a lot of use over the past century, and it definitely shows it. Lots of aging/character, nice patinas. It\'s not museum quality-mint, this baby was well loved and well played - which is better than any stuffy collectors piece (check out the thumb wear on the back of the neck), This thing tells a story and she sings like an angel! Very unique tone coming from the 12\" pot and original patented tonering.

Amazing original placards/name plates/serial numbers and ORIGINAL 12\" bump style case (though it\'s in very very rough) shape. Still cool though.
