This vintage old squash blossom is a family heirloom that I have decided to sell from collection . My father in law lived in the southwest in the late 40\'s, he always loved Native American things, I was told he bought this from the family of a Native AmericanHoly man. The squash blossom necklace has been enjoyed by us for many years. The greener shades of turquoise was more prized years ago than the blue color, there are still some collectors that still look for it and think that is true. This necklace is very large and unusual not only because of the color, but the square and rectangular shape of the turquoise, I have never seen anything evensimilar to this over the years of my collecting, I have been told manyover the years that thisis a museum piece. This necklace is set with 15 square and rectangular and one center drop turquoise, the length of the necklace is 30\'\', the center naja measures 3 3/4\'\' x 3 1/2\'\'. The necklaces weighs approx. 350grams.The stones are quite large and in beautiful condition considering the age. The beads are a very good quality handmade and stamped work bead. Over all the necklace is in very nice condition, great patina, the end clasp at some point has been soldered.This is truly a beautiful piece and a very hard to let go of, I do hope that someone will enjoy it as much aswe have.
