This beautifully carved carousel horse ornate Outside Row Jumper was carved in 1890 by Charles Looff for the RinglingBrothers Circus carousel in Baraboo Wisconsin, in Coney Island style. Last picture is the old carousel in Wisconsin. A true piece of circusmemorabilia, unequalled.

While in great shape to begin with, this Circus Horse was professionallyrestored in the late 80s to its original colors and painting methods. At almost 7 feet long, this horse commandspresence and strength. From the heavilycarved ornate flowing mane, to the jeweled trappings and expressive eyes, thisis a stunning piece of art. It is 45inches to the saddle, perfect height for a child, and 62 inches to the top ofthe flowing mane.

This antique carousel horsehas a real horse hair tail, and an imp on either side of the saddle, and metalhorse shoes. It even has the originalcarousel mechanism on the belly. This Looffcarousel horse has a great aged patina, and shows well, not overly or amateurishlyrestored. Since it was restored in period correct paints and colors, there is some crackling in the paint, and seams are visible. This carousel horse comes complete, as shown in the pictures, complete with the polished brasspole, horsehair tail and weighted base.

This Ringling Brothers carousel horse is a true piece of Americana and Circus history.
