Big Bisque Porcelain Bust of Ukrainian National Hero Bogdan Khmelnitsky 1952 LZFI

Bogdan Khmelnitsky (BohdanZenobi Chmielnicki )led an uprising against the Polish-LithuanianCommonwealth (now part of Ukraine) and its magnates in 1648-1654 which resultedin the creation of the Cossack state.

I am glad to offer this vintage and scarce bust. This busthas been made at Leningrad Experimental Factory LZFI in 1952-58 and is marked with“Experimental factory GIKI Leningrad”logo ( Опытный завод ГИКИ Ленинград),first earlytype for limited 1952-1958y period.

Made by famous sculptor V.Sichev and signed in Cyrillicon the back.

Height 28,5 cm or 11,5 inches.This is RARE as most of the other later produced BH busts were only 18-19 cm in height.
