Beautiful French newel post sculpture

by the known French artist Auguste Moreau

who was active between 1860 and 1880. He was born in Paris in 1834 and lived until 1917.

Delicate and tender treatment of a young man.

Romantic, artistic and sensitive treatment shown in this beautiful piece!

This piece features a light spray that is affixed to the back(if used as a lighted installation)in the opening (shown)

and features a spray of branches that end in flower heads, in which each would have a light bulb.

Originally with a bronzed finish, this piece could use a bit of restoration and would be worth at least twice as much or more as we are asking for!

As-is, it is a beautiful addition to any home art collection!

31 1/2\" tall, 9 3/4\" bottom (not including the light spray). It is large and heavy.
