Up for sale is \"The Life and Public Services of Hon. Abraham Lincoln,\" by D.W. Bartlett. This is the first edition of the book, published in 1860 by Derby and Jackson, New York. There are 354 pages to the book, with a few pages of book ads in the back. This book was published during Abraham Lincoln\'s presidential campaign as a propaganda piece to help him get elected. Overall, the book does show wear and tear from the past 150 years. There are some marks and spots to the covers, but the covers themselves are still fully attached and do not have fraying. The binding of the book is starting to come apart at the bottom as can be seen in the picture, though it still seems to be securely attached overall. The major imperfection is what appears to be ink that was spilled on the bottom of the book. The ink spot is noticeable from the front inside cover to page 199, although it only covers 1-2 words at the most per page, which can still be read through it. The ink spots are smaller in the beginning and in the later pages. At its worst points, the ink spot covers about a 3x1 inch section of the page, as seen in the last picture. On the inside cover, the original owner appears to have been \"John,\" who received it in February of 1861. The book was sold at J.W. Seccomb Bookseller and Stationer in Rockford, Illinois, which is on the seal on this page.
