Beautiful vintage Navajo heavy sterling silver basket weave bracelet by Harvey Begay (dec 2009). Well designed and made by this wonderful silversmith who generally made only custom pieces. At times he had a 2 year waiting list for his items. Harvey was the son of the famous silversmith Kenneth Begay, but he was as well known for his jewelry and won many awards. His jewelry is hard to find because most of it is in museums and private collections. He has a modernistic style blended in with his Navajo techiques and designs. I have been fortunate enough to have owned many pieces by this great artist and his jewelry always stands out from the run of the mill NativeAmerican jewelry.
Circumference measures about 5\" plus 1 1/4\" opening for the wrist. It is NOT flexible. It is about 1 1/4\" wide. Weight of the bracelet is about 73.8 grams. Marked HB in the box and 925. Excellent vintage condition. Nice item for your collection. Make your best offer for this quality piece.
