The History

This beautiful pair of earrings were made by a very talented Navajo Nation Native American silversmith by the name of TK Emerson. It features hand crafted silversmith work throughout.

Malachiteis apopular stone which has light and dark green banded areas. Manybeautiful specimens of malachite contain special combinations with otherminerals, such as azurite, cuprite, or chrysocolla.

The earrings are marked \"Sterling TK\" for TK Emerson of the Navajo Nation. The design is very representative of his work. One earring is missing one dangle, the other is missing two dangles. These earrings do not come with backings.

The Piece

These classic Navajo earrings each feature a hand cabochon cut and polished Malachite stone. The stones are oval cut and bezel set near the center of the design. Beneath the main motif there are cylindrical Malachite beads that dangle on graduated silver rods. The Malachite is vibrant green and displays a smooth, polished surface and natural darker green matrix. The stones are in great condition and display normal wear, with no scratches, cracks or chips.

The silver work in these earrings is completely hand crafted and features traditional TK Emerson silver work throughout. The overall motif of the piece mimics the oval cut of the Malachite. The oval silver body features a riveted edge and hand stamped circular patterns and linear designs. There are silver bead accents, both three dimensional and flat, throughout the dangling portion of the earrings.

The earrings measure 2 and 1/2\" tall by 7/8\" wide. The Malachite cabochon measures 1/2\" tall by 3/8\" wide. The design includes posts for pierced ears, however these earrings do not come with backings.
