This is the last sale of the new claim material for the year.

Up for sale today is the newest paydirt from the Black Hills and will come in a medium flat rate box (a little over 25lbs) filled with some of my best gold bearing paydirt from my newest gold claim on virgin ground that I had promised to keep the exact location a secret.  

This new claim is a tributary to Battle Creek that has the Deadwood formation running through this area. The Deadwood formation is responsible (so far) for a measly 3.7 million ounces of gold with literally tons of gold left to be found and runs north-northwest to south-southeast through the Black Hills right through this claim. The paydirt comes from an area where that Deadwood formation has eroded and empties into the nearby Creek (about 300 yards away). Bedrock in this area switches from wavy smooth (pic 4) with occasional gold trapping pockets to jagged vertical pieces (pic 5) that act as gold catching ripples.

This material has some thick grey clay that rests on and in between the bedrock as well as some red, gold rich iron-bearing clay (seen in pic 8) in the cobble near the bedrock with a lot of black sand, garnets and rocks with garnets as I am near the garnet isograd. I have scraped off the gold bearing gritty grey and red clay from the larger cobble and broken bedrock chunks as that tends to be where the best gold is and put it in the sale box. Pickers and flakes are the norm with this material with some smaller fines and flour gold. Pickers are a lot more common than the nuggets but nuggets (for me anything over 1/4”) are to be found. Most gold found in this material is that deep yellow gold that the Black Hills are known for with a lot of that being rough gold. Please remember to thoroughly wash off any cobble and bedrock chunks as this is where some of the gold tends to be locked up.
