Lovely c\' 1880\'s - 1907\'s
VON SCHIERHOLZ GERMANY THURINGIA
Hand Painted & Encrusted Porcelain Figural Compote - Centerpiece in two parts:Removable Two - Handle Floral Basket and Figural Base features a Candelabra with a spot to hold a candle !
Clearly Marked in Blue with a Crown above Shield with Three Leaves.
Thismark attributed to the Schierholz Porcelain Factory of Plaue, Thuringia, Germany, dated1890 - 1907.
The base features absolutely adorable courting young couple and applied bunches of purple and white lilac flowers at thewhimsically carved four-footed base in arococo style.
The reticulated basket is encrusted with applied bunches of purple and white lilac flowers & greenery, and has beautiful flower with green leaves painted inside.
The basket has brass metal pin about 1\" long which supposes to be inserted into top of the base to form compote.
This pin does have tiny stopper to prevent unexpectable rotation of the basket, pic.11.
Dimensions approximately:
14\" - total height with basket
Basket - 9 1/2\" x 9 1/2 in the opening and about 5\" high
Base - 9 1/2\" high and 4 3/4\" x 4/3/4\" at the bottom
Total weight approx.: 3 lbs 11 oz unpacked

This survival pieceis in RARE !!!!! excellent antique conditionfor its age, we foundonlya couple of typical tinniest chipped off tips of petals, using a magnifying glass and strong light. Generallyextremely perfect condition for this type of multi-detailed porcelain piece, more than 110 years old!
