#CARVex is a graphic paper micarta which is shape-able without losing the image. Made upof 35+ graphic prints stabilized in epoxy resin using the VP5 process.
The VP5 process consists of 5 steps of manufacturing. Vacuum stabilization andpressure curing are combined with physical compression.This process allows theuse of new materials, which formerly would not be considered in scale handlematerial manufacturing.

The graphic runs all the way through the scale. Shaping the scales willleave the image, but with a slight \'milky\' haze. Most of the haze can beremoved with 2000 grit and a finish coat of some kind, which IS recommended.
These scales can be tricky to use. There is a help section within the FaceBook VP5 group.We recommend you visit there before using these scales.
They should be kept very very cool whileshaping and contouring.
It is recommended you apply a CA or other finish coat for ease of buffing and addeddurability.
These scale sets are great for custom knife handles and gun grips.
