1/2 PLATE THERMOPLASTIC FRAME - DAGUERREOTYPE/ AMBROTYPE & TINTYPE - MINT & RARE! - You are offerding on a Mint condition thermoplastic frame #7-14 entitled \"Three Leaves\" and listed as RARE in Paul Berg\'s bible on cases and frames. The frame currently houses a period engraving of a woman reading a book with her dog on her lap, however, the frame could be used for any of your favorite half plate daguerreotypes, ambrotypes or tintypes. Note: The backside of the frame has the \"Diantite,\" manufacturer patent date of July 21st, 1868 and Dec. 15th. The original hardware and backing board are all present. A spectacular brown toned thermoplastic frame in incredible condition is what you are offerding on in this sale.Condition: Please view my detailed scans for the actual condition. The item includes frame, glass, original hardware and the included engraving. It is truly amazing to find a frame in this condition with absolutely no cracks or chips. The frame also retains its original sheen. The engraving is in fine condition as well and would make a great addition or gift for any canine image collector. The exterior dimensions are 6 1/2\" W by 7 3/4\" H and the oval opening 4\" W by 5\" H. The backside will accommodate a 4 15/16\' W by 6 1/2\" H mat or artwork.
