This large (1.25\") campaign button was produced for the 1896 election when William McKinley stood against William Jennings Bryant.Itshows a sepia portrait of McKinley against a glowing gold background. The pin is in very nice conditionwith a couple of very minor dents just above McKinley\'s name and a little erosion of the gold background.The paper insert in the back of the pin is a little worn but it still gives the manufacturer\'s name as Whitehead&Hoag / Newark, New Jersey. and patent dates that start July 17, 1904 (the rest of the dates are a little unclear-see photo). This pin is guaranteed genuine.
