A beautiful and exceedingly rare Twelfth Night, illustrated with lithographs by William Heath Robinson, limited to only 350 copies, signed by the artist, 1908.

The definitive Art Nouveau, Golden Age illustrated version of The Comedy of The Twelfth Night, or What You Will, with delicate Art Nouveau illustrations by W.H. Robinson. This Limited Signed Edition was issued over 107 years ago, in 1908, by Hodder and Stoughton, in London. The plot and characters come to life with 40 full colour chromolithograph plates, all under protective tissues, and further black-and-white line drawings and decorations. This sumptous book is profusely illustrated and printed on handmade English paper, top edge gilt ( TEG), right and lower edge deckled ( otherwise known as rough-cut, or uncut). Finely bound in recent gilt vellum with new ties, this copy is in excellent condition. A few very occasional minute small spots and light wrinkles to tissues, slightly dusty in the gutter, perfect plates. There are no bookplates or inscriptions or any detracting faults - a wonderful, gift worthy copy of this wonderful book.
