1/6 PLATE TINTYPE- CUTE GIRL HOLDING GERMAN BISQUE DOLL & CARNATIONS - RARE! - Rarely do you finds such a sweet girl and a doll so perfectly captured on a sixth plate tintype as this one. The child clutches her favorite German bisque headed doll and they both wear matching white dresses. On this special day, her mother has attached two Carnation flowers to her dress. Both the girl and doll have a nice subtle application of warm tinting applied to their cheeks. However, my favorite element of this tintype is the charming expression on the girl face and the sparkle in her eyes. You can clearly see the bond and fondness she has for her dolly. A rare tintype with incredible sharpness, beautiful tonality and housed in a stunning paper sleeve with gold printed accents. An exceptional image to display with your antique doll collection or add to your 19th Century photos of beautiful children with toys. The sixth plate is nicely tucked into a paper sleeve. The top of the backside of the sleeve has been slightly torn, as it was probably encased in an album at one time.
