Wow! This is the most unique Syriac Garshuni leaf, because it has a very rare depiction six Cherubim heads with wings. Cherubim are found throughout the Old Testament from Genesis to Ezekiel, but in the New Testament are only found at Hebrew 9:5, \"The Cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercyseat.\"

An early 18th century, very rare, printed SyriacBible leaf with writing on bothsides of the sheet. The crudeness of the printing is an evidence of its early printing. This text waspublished by the Maronite Christian Church, using theancient Syriac script or alphabet, but the words are actually in the Arabic language (spoken by Maronite Christians). This type of writing using Syriac letters and Arabic words is called \"Garshuni\" or \"Karshuni.\" Syriacis a Semitic language, related to Aramaic, Hebrew,Arabic, and Ge\'ez. The size of the sheet is about 3 in. x 3 3/4 in. Notice that the header at the top of the leaf is printed in red ink. There are six (6) red printed words on this leaf. There is discoloration on the leaf, due to its age and liturgical use over the centuries. The following are some of the word: \"Amen\" (which can be see in the 1st scanned image, top word); \"Lead\" or \"Direct\"; \"Splendor\"; \"Perish\"; \"Wounded\"; \"Fortunate\"; and two (2) instances of the word \"Great,\" which is related to the well-known \"Rabbi.\"
