Thispiece is smoothfrom tumbling around in the surf in Northern California for on average thirty years, it is said. This color is extremely popular and rare not only because it\'sbeautiful, but also because itremindsus of being atthe beach, and all the fun we\'ve had in our lifetimes at the beach,cookinghot dogs and having a beer withfriends.
All surfglass or seaglass as it\'s also known, is found by me and my wife Mo along the Northern California coast. especially around the San Francisco Bay Area, Baker Beach, SF in particular. It\'s taken many years to amass enough of this finite material (surfglass), to embark into the world of jewelry making, and wow was it worth the effort. There is so much you can do with surfglass, there\'s no end, really.
Surfglass is a recycled treasure that has enormous potential for numerous possibilities. While there are some outfits and proprietors who use fake oceanglass (broken glass thrown in a tumbler), we use only surfglass harvested by our own hands here in Northern California. You can always tell fake seaglass, it\'s too uniform. Our surfglass tumbles around and is pounded smooth in the surf for an average of about thirty years.
