What a GREAT and RARE Estate Find, among a small collection of Civil War items!!

This is a sepia photo of a fully uniformed Union Soldier with a rifle.

His hat shows \"A7\", which I believe shows his duty as \"Installation and Mission Control\".

Photo is 10 x 8 in GREAT condition! Just a few wrinkles in it.

Since listing this the first day, I removed the photo from the frame. 

Photo is stamped by photographer, Horace L. Woodlief, Jr, 528 North Ethel Ave, Alhambra, California\" in top left corner of back

Stamped on the right corner of the back, \"If reproduced credit should be given to the Smithsonian Institution\",

Then someone wrote in ink on it, \"Infantry Private - Civil War, US Army, Dressed for Marching and Battle\"

Picture taken of it out of the frame exposes a 1/8\" long red, water-mark looking spot at the very bottom left of the frame & a couple on the right edge (see photos)

The frame appears to be very old, but not from the Civil War period...encased with nails. When I opened it, it splintered the wood some.

Frame has red felt backing.

Frame is 11 1/8\" T x 9 1/4\" W

This item is not about the frame, but the AMAZING PHOTO IN IT!!

You can reframe it in a period frame.
