Up for sale is this very nice Sterling Silver Comemorative Coin marking the 100th Anniversary of the Kentucky Derby. It was made by the Wittnauer mint in 1974 for the 100th Running. The coin is nicely detailed, about the size of a half-dollar and is made of 36 grams of Sterling Silver. The rim of the coin is marked: The Wittnauer Mint, Sterling, C, W, 74, 2161. It has a lucite sleeve with gold printing on black. The coin is in great shape with no issues. The sleeve does have some wrinkling on the black and a few scratches on the lucite.
