Description

Rarely seen full set of TWELVE gilt silverplate demitasse espressospoons. These are pattern number 29 Efeu (or in English Ivy Leaf) by WMF introduced in 1903. I believe this pattern was in production c.1903-1914 or so. Outstanding Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) design. This set is extra special as the bowls have gold gilt. Subtle script capital \"D\" monogram.MATERIAL: Fine quality German silverplate - thickness is 1/0 (normal thickness of silver deposit on base metal). Bowls with gold gilt finish.SIZE: Approximately 4 1/4\" each.MARKS: 1/0 on back of each.CONDITION: Antique item. All in all, condition is amazing. A few gilt bowls have a bit of surface wear; worst two are shown in super close up photo. One spoonhas a little discoloration/silverplate wear at the very end edge of the handle. I did not even notice it until I super enlarged the photos. No big deal in real life. Otherwise, just expect some very faint scratches in some of the gold bowls.
