For sale is a beautiful 1250 Simon & Halbig bisque head doll with a rare pink leather, jointed body. She stands 23 inches tall and has wonderful antique clothes. She has lovely painted facial detailing. Please read condition description below:
Condition:
Head/eyes: Head has no cracks, repairs, chips or hairlines. She does have glue residue and whitish areas from where a wig was attached near the top of her head (see photos). She is dusty. She has a couple of light rubs on her face and a few dark spots. Some of the spots may come off with a gentle cleaning. Her sleep eyes are in good shape: some chipping to the eyelid of the right eye, but, overall, are fine. The wig is antique with a small gold-colored barrette, but I\'m not sure if it is original to her or not. It has nice ringlets in the back and is not falling apart. It seems to suit her. It is a little frizzy and seems like it has thinned some in the front, but you can easily comb hair over the spot. There is no pate.
Body: The body is all intact and solid. The arms are compo/wood and ball jointed at the elbow. They look like they\'ve been repainted. The leather body has faded, has some tiny pin-sized holes in the front, some all over discoloration and wear. The leather tends to be dry, esp. around her feet. She has rivet jointed, chunky legs.
Clothing: Gorgeous antique dress. It might be faded or has always been a very light pastel peach with a pink ribbon running through the lacy overlay. It is VERY delicate! It is not melting at this point, but it is fragile. The gossamer lace net of the dress has a few pinpoint holes. There is some fraying to her peach bow, too. Her antique bloomers are a little yellowed, have a few tiny holes and spots. The socks seem to be vintage. One sock has a pull at the top. The shoes are vintage, too and are in good shape. Her earrings could be antique, but hard to tell. They are either pink glass or stone. The antique hat has pink silk ribbon that is melting away (see photo). It is finely made and is even lined on the inside, where the head would go. I\'m sure it was meant to go with the dress.
She is a beautiful doll! Ready to display.
She will be packed VERY carefully: bubble wrap, packing peanuts and a sturdy box. I do not ship internationally at this time - sorry. I do accept returns if the item is grossly misrepresented.
