This is one stunning, cabinet sized, museum quality fossil Ammonite or Ammolite (Placenticeras Meeki sp.) from a remote locale outside Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada. This amazing specimen has all colors of the rainbow showing, including, but not limited to blue, green, yellow, orange, red, even purple and colors in between. A very vibrant, lustrous and eye-catching ammonite! It is very stable and has suffered no damage or repair outside of the preservation process from when it was uncovered. This specimen was purchased from a dealer representing Canada Fossils in Tucson in 2013 and came with the official COA which you will receive along with your museum quality specimen. And while I say check out the pictures and see for yourself, just know that the pictures cannot even begin to do the specimen justice and this looks so much better in person. This specimen displays excellent from all sides and will be a treasure and a instant favorite in any mineral collection. It\'s overall measurements are 141mm x 115mm x 35mm. There is no damage it was found intact and has no restoration or repair of any kind. Please see the pictures for more detail.
I am completely committed to my 100% response score and your satisfaction. I have bought things on before and been disappointed and I don\'t want that to happen to you. So if the item shows up and there is damage or you are very unhappy contact me and we can work something out so that you are satisfied. As always thanks for looking and feel free to contact me with any questions or rolling terrain around the St. Mary River provides the setting to uncover a rich deposit of rough, Ammolite gemstones. Ammolite is formed from an ancient marine fossil called an ammonite. Although sources of ammonites exist in other locations around the globe, it is only in one isolated region of Southern Alberta, Canada, that this deposit produces the gemstone Ammolite. Seventy-one million years of tectonic pressure, heat and mineralization have resulted in the formation of this geological wonder.

From a seller\'s notes on ...
PURPOSEThe purpose of this guide is to help you find a good quality stone, after all this is a buyers guide. i am not here to slander other sellers.Letskeep this simple and informative, i have been making ammonite ,or ammolite gemstonessince 1990and selling it to a few select retailers on a full time basis \"so i have been a victim of the customer is always right.\" so this will be the basis of my guide.
GRADE AND PRICE OF THE STONEThe general rule is more colors plus shine and cut means higher price.[A grade] would besingle colorand in the 100 dollars USD wholesale per square inch.AA grade is 3 colors and in the 300 to 500 USD range would not be outrageous.[AAA grade] or collector grade what ever you want to call it simply means more than 3 colors andthese would be the best of the best stones, some people don\'t consider this a grade at all..BUT what would you call the best of the best stones that nobody ever sees in the store, Many retailers have a AAA grade category for their stuff and Every retailer has their collectors that buy this stuff up before anybody else gets to see it and thats a fact... Many collector grade stones are not always set either, they can be kept just the way they are,and 500 to a 1000 USD per inch. would most definitely not be unreasonable.Remember this is a non renewable resource..All prices are based on what we feel is reasonable,,search the net and you will see much higher prices for very small stones.
