14k Gold Masonic 1927 Past Master Pin Medal Arapahoe Lodge 130:
$743.75

Past Master Masonic award from the Arapaho Lodge 130 (Paul Revere Lodge) of Westminster, Colorado. Three-piece medal is all solid 14k yellow gold, though the chain segments are 10k yellow gold and may have been replacements. The words painted on the front are in excellent condition, the enamel on the top symbol of the round medal is worn a bit.

The only condition issue of note is the moon face has signs of an impact: There is a TINY fleck of stone missing off the nose, and a feather crack that extends under the stone. This fracture, by all analysis, does not seriously affect the durability or security of the stone itself.

The engraving on the back is as follows: \"Presented to Worshipful Master Merritt T. Olney By Arapahoe Lodge #130 AF & AM Dec 6 - 1927\"

Weighs 23 grams. The top piece has a working pin and is marked 14k. All three pieces are original to the medal and have not been replaced, except the chains as noted. Included what appears to be the original case from the goldsmith who fashioned the medal. Medal measures 3-7/16\" long, the bottom piece is 1-7/16\" across. Velvet interior and leather exterior case is in good working condition with some stiffening and wear as shown. This piece came to me from a gold buyer, so I do not have any custodial information. Gold purity tests were done electronically, no acid or abrasion to the piece.

About Thumb Out

That picture of me is from the happiest time of my life.

I started on a few years ago. Butmy story starts before that. In 2010, Iwas a manager for a business in Chicago. I wascompletely unhappy and stuck. After a particularly rough winter at work and a breakup, I knew I had to change. I gave notice and headed to the Big Island ofHawai\'i to live on a farm and plant trees.

I didn\'t know it then, but I would end up staying on the Big Island for a full year.

Finally living my dream

Half way through the year,I left the safety of the farm and camped on the island\'s beaches, living out of my backpack. I woke up every morning with no destination. I followed the beauty of the island and trusted my intuition. Hitchhiking became a way of life. When a stranger does something nice for you, it makes you think the whole world is kind-hearted. Imagine starting each day that way, it\'s a wonderful way to live.

And that\'s where the \"ThumbOut\" name comes from.Younever knowwhich car will be your ride, soKeep your thumb out!

The most powerful adventure was my solo journey to see flowing lava. Iwalked 3 miles over cooled lava fields under a full moon. I reached the flow at 1am, close enough to poke it with a stick. Seeing lava in real life has been a childhood dream. Once I gota taste of this kind of adventure, I never went back to my old way of living. But I wasn\'t sure what was next for me...
